2022 marks the 30th anniversary of Goosebumps, and author R.L. Stine is celebrating with an origin story for one of his most popular creations. Slappy, Beware! will be published on September 20 via Scholastic.

The 192-page hardcover children’s horror novel details the untold story of Slappy the Dummy, who was first introduced in 1993’s Night of the Living Dummy and went on to appear in various sequels and spin-offs.

This special edition features four page pieces of original Slappy art. Read the synopsis below, and you can head to EW for an excerpt.
